When visiting Nicura Ranch, there is so much to enjoy right on our 15-acre property, but don’t miss out on all that the surrounding area has to offer! Our town of Berea was named one of Southern Livings “50 Best Small Towns in the South” for its art, culture and gorgeous scenery. Topping the list for scenery is the Pinnacles, ranked as the #1 hike in Kentucky according to Outside Magazine. Guests will also love exploring the Kentucky Horse Park, Bourbon Trail, shopping, fine art, and dining.

A must-see for all horse lovers, the Kentucky Horse Park is a working horse farm, educational theme park, equine competition facility, and equine office park. At Fire & Fern, participants are guided through a hands-on experience to create a unique item out of blown glass. A skilled instructor adjusts the process to meet each participant’s skill, ability, and comfort level. This is a fun, educational, up-close experience in the glass studio. No prior experience needed. Classes can be booked online.

Horse Farm Tours
The Lexington area is home to some of the most famous Thoroughbred stud farms in the world. Many of these farms offer tours. You can meet famous racehorses and learn how Thoroughbred breeding takes place. There are many farms to choose from, such as Spy Coast, Spendthrift, and for a taste of history, Claiborne (the gravesite of Secretariat.).
While touring the lavish stud farms, we highly recommend including a visit to Old Friends. Old Friends is a retirement farmfor racehorses no longer used for breeding. Operating as a charity, tour sales directly benefit the farm and horses. It’s a beautiful place for these magnificent horses to live out their final years.

Chenault Vineyard
Chenault is a Kentucky family owned winery and 500 acre vineyard. Relax while viewing the beautiful grounds, walking the trails and tasting their various wines. Chenault is located about 20 minutes from our Ranch (in Richmond, Kentucky). For more information, click here.
